Plaza Las Américas and Plaza Del Caribe Foundations open call for applications for the 19th edition of the Mano Amiga Program

San Juan, Puerto Rico – The Plaza Las Américas Foundation and the Plaza Del Caribe Foundation announce the official opening of the application period for the 19th edition of the Mano Amiga Program. From August 1st until August 31, non-profit organizations may submit their proposals to receive financial support through this program, which continues to reaffirm its commitment to the social development of Puerto Rico.

This year, the call for proposals is focused on supporting projects in the following priority areas:

Education: Only programs related to tutoring and curriculum reinforcement, early childhood, vocational and university access, and functional diversity will be considered.

Art and Culture: Priority will be given to training programs in disciplines such as music, dance, theater, painting, crafts, and literature, as well as initiatives that promote ongoing access to artistic and cultural experiences.

Health: Proposals aimed at addressing chronic conditions in both pediatric and elderly populations—including cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s—will be evaluated, as well as initiatives aimed at children and young people on the autism spectrum.

Women’s Empowerment: Priority will be given to programs that promote the physical, emotional, and mental safety of survivors of gender-based violence, as well as efforts to reintegrate them into the workforce and promote their self-sufficiency.

Interested organizations must complete the updated application form, available through the program’s digital platform.

“From the foundations, we renew our commitment to Puerto Rico, supporting entities that transform lives and communities. With each edition of the Mano Amiga Program, we seek to amplify its impact and continue to reach out to those who need it most,” said Lorraine Vissepó, director of corporate communications at Empresas Fonalledas, Inc.

Since its creation in 2016, Mano Amiga has been a driver of positive and sustainable impact, channelling resources to organizations committed to collective well-being. Throughout these 19 editions, it has strengthened dozens of entities that promote social change from the community level.
