San Juan, Puerto Rico– The Programa Mano Amiga of the Plaza Las Américas and Plaza Del Caribe Foundations began the second period of the year to receive requests for donations from non-profit organizations that serve the metro and southern areas of Puerto Rico. The period to receive proposals will be from August 1 to 31.
As part of its commitment to positive change, the Programa Mano Amiga invites organizations that work tirelessly to make a difference to submit project proposals in the following areas:
- Education – To be limited to those programs aimed at facilitating, providing and strengthening the K-12 school curriculum.
- Arts and Culture – Supporting the development of new talent in the areas of music, dance, theater, painting, crafts and literature.
- Entrepreneurship – Support the offering of services and educational platforms aimed at individuals interested in establishing or growing their own businesses.
- Health – Supporting programs aimed at providing tools and mechanisms to help community groups address problems related to the following chronic diseases in pediatric or older adults: cardiovascular conditions, cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.
- Environment – Programs that address specific environmental needs to improve a particular community.

We firmly believe in the power of collaborative work and the transformative potential of local initiatives. We encourage them to submit their proposals before August 31 so that they can be considered for the last grants of this year,” said Lorraine Vissepó, director of communications for Empresas Fonalledas.
