The Agribusiness Program comes to a close
The Sila M. Calderón Center for Puerto Rico recently held a closing ceremony for its Agribusiness Program, sponsored by the Fonalledas Foundation. The activity included a motivational talk, the handing out of certificates, and financial incentives. The program supports agribusinesses affected by the passing of Hurricane Fiona across Puerto Rico with humanitarian aid, the development of emergency service guides, training for the development of proactive strategies in the face of natural disasters, and financial subsidies to continue operating their businesses.
Nineteen agro-entrepreneurs from 14 municipalities across the island participated in the program, whose businesses include active farms where cocoa, bananas, coffee, hydroponic products, vegetables, heliconias, fruits, various artisan products, and others are grown for sale. The collaboration strengthens the business continuity of small companies affected by the ravages of hurricanes and natural disasters that impact this industry.
